The 2020 presidential and congressional elections are widely viewed as the most consequential in recent American history. The campaign has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 environment global pandemic, the most serious economic decline since the Great Depression and a nationwide demand for social justice and police reform. Voting by mail will be more prevalent than ever before, even as the president challenges the legitimacy of such votes and the campaign has been marked by attacks and counter attacks, perhaps more rancorous than any since 1800.
With the White House and the U.S. Senate in the balance, this will be an historic night.
Join students, faculty, and alumni for the Taubman Center Election Night Watch Party which will feature a faculty panel previewing expectations for the night’s results and highlighting bellwethers to watch.
The faculty panel will begin at 7:00pm. The webcast will include television coverage of returns as they are reported with a series of expert commentators joining discussion as the evening progresses.
